In 2002 I moved to Portland from Atlanta, Georgia, in order to complete Optometry School at Pacific University. After falling in love with the Pacific NW, I decided to stay. I completed my Residency training at the Portland VA Hospital. I started River City Eyecare with my wonderful business partner, Dr. Breeden and we’ve never looked back. I am proud to call Portland home and enjoy spending time traveling and taking in the great outdoors with my lovely wife and our three delightful children.
DR. CARRIE BREEDEN

I am originally from Southern Oregon but now call Portland home. I obtained my bachelors degree in Biology from Southern Oregon University. Like Dr. Provost, I also graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry. I knew I wanted to be an optometrist when I was fit with my first pair of contacts in the 5th grade. Optometry is a wonderful profession because every day brings new opportunities for me to improve the quality of life for my patients. Building our two-location practice alongside my fantastic business partner, Dr. Provost, has been the most rewarding experience. Besides eyecare, I am also passionate about horse back riding and playing dodgeball.
JENNY BUDLONG
OPERATIONS MANAGER/OPTICIAN
I’ve worked in optics since 2009 and have loved every minute of this dynamic field! My passion lies in assisting patients as they choose the perfect set of specs for them, from the frames to the comprehensive lens technology available. Like a good pair of jeans, one size does NOT fit all, and the same goes for your glasses and contact lenses. I’m here to be your personal shopper and tailor of all things eye-wear. Originally from Southern California, I now call Portland my permanent home and enjoy exploring all it has to offer.

I have been in the optical world for a little over 15 years now and enjoy every minute. My favorite part is helping you step into a new style that you fall in love with, as well as sharing the newest and greatest technology that can change how you see the world. Outside of work I enjoy playing and coaching softball as well as keeping up on all the things Portland has to offer. Raised in a small town East of Portland, I have found that this really is a beautiful place to live and raise kids.
ALEX DOUGHERTY
LAB TECH/OPTICIAN
I am a Portland native and I have been in optics for roughly 6 years; its a kick in the pants! I prefer to be outdoors camping or climbing, but I also love talking to people and meeting new faces. I spend most of my free time tooling around on my motorcycle and hanging out at my favorite Portland spots with friends. Life is good.
JAKE ALBRECHT

My goal is to make folks feel welcome when they walk in and confident about their glasses when they walk out. My favorite thing about being an optician is the opportunity the job provides to meet and work with people. I enjoy building relationships with patients and helping them understand their eyewear. In my free time I enjoy the occasional cheesy horror flick.
